Paintings
I have always been in love with making things. Growing up in my grandfathers wood shop, I learned to use power tools at a very young age. This love affair of building things grew throughout college and has now become a huge part of my career and overall one of the biggest joys in my life! To this day, I am happiest at the end of the day, if I have paint on my pants, ink stains on my hands, and if there are random collaging materials scattered on my studio floor. I have books and books of my weird little collages, which I will start to post one of these days, but I thought I should share a few of my more recent paintings. I love experimenting with new materials and mixing media to get a variety of texture. I build all of my own stretcher frames, and consider the art supply store to be “work related items”. I try to keep my creative skill set versatile and to play with various materials as often as possible. I find art time truly benefits my work, as well as my mood.
